Padouk
The Padouk heartwood is nicely orangish red, also known as coral-red. When exposed to light, this tone will quickly discolour into pale red-brown and eventually into black-brown. If the wood is timely varnished with an acid-hardening clear varnish, the nice colour can be retained longer. The 100-200 mm wide sap is dirty white to crème coloured. African padouk is an excellent, durable, nice and stable wood species.
